Common questions

How much does an EICR cost in Ealing?

Our landlord EICRs cost £149 for a studio or 1-bed flat, £169 for a 2-bed, £199 for a 3-bed house and £229 for a 4-bed house. Larger properties and HMOs are priced per circuit, from £289. See all prices.

How long does an EICR take?

Most flats and houses take two to four hours. The power is switched off for short periods while we test each circuit.

Do I need to be there?

No. Many landlords arrange access through their agent or tenant. We email the certificate to you and your agent afterwards.

What happens if the EICR is unsatisfactory?

An EICR is unsatisfactory if it records any C1, C2 or FI item. Landlords must have that work done within 28 days, or sooner if the report says so. We quote the remedial work on the day. What the codes mean.

How often do I need an EICR?

Landlords in England need one at least every five years, or sooner if the last report says so. For your own home, every ten years or when you move in is a sensible guide.

What is a JIB Approved Electrician?

The JIB grades UK electricians. Approved Electrician is a senior grade: fully qualified (Level 3 and the AM2 assessment), at least two years' experience as an electrician, and proven competence in inspection and testing. You can check his ECS card online with the free CSCS Smart Check service.
